Nancy Richmond Rose is the Chief Operating Officer for EducationNC and the N.C. Center for Public Policy Research. She grew up in Asheville and Durham where she attended Ira B. Jones Elementary School in Asheville, and Lakewood Elementary School, Rogers Herr Junior High, and Carolina Friends School in Durham. Nancy attended Western Carolina University before graduating from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1980 with a B.A. in Education. She holds an Executive Certificate in Nonprofit Leadership from Duke University.

Nancy spent 34 years working in administration, operations, finance, and technology with the nonpartisan North Carolina Center for Public Policy Research. In her volunteer life, she has spent countless hours in her children’s schools chairing committees, tutoring, mentoring, chaperoning, fundraising, and pulling computer cable. She’s an accidental wildlife gardener and wishes she had more time for reading and traveling.
